We the Undersigned...

Verona residents signing the Petition
“NO NET LOSS OF TREES POLICY”
(People signing must be a resident of Verona, NJ – 18 years old or older)

More than 120 Verona residents signed this petition. The signatures were collected between June 12 and June 15, 2009. We appreciate all the efforts and help provided by supporters.

Due to privacy reasons we are not posting their names and addresses here.

  1. Thank you everybody for supporting this effort. If we do not plant elms, oaks, zelkovas, cherries and lilacs (all trees currently being planted in Montclair)Verona will loose a lot of its charm and beauty very soon. The petition is not perfect but it is a step in the right direction. We have very talented and dedicated authorities in Verona, that's why we are petitioning, because we are absolutly confident on their ability to deliver.

  2. I attended the council meeting last night (June 15th) where this petition was presented. The council and the town manager promised to provide feedback to the public at the July 20th council meeting, and it would be great to have this petition's supporters there (a) to hear this feedback first-hand, and (b) to have the opportunity to ask questions and challenge any points that are not made clear. The council and town manager are accountable to the public and we deserve clarity and transparency.
